Drysdale Funerals supports residents of the Lockyer Valley with Boxes of LoveChristine Jones, Location Manager of Drysdale Funerals Nambour was moved by the plight of the families and communities of the Lockyer Valley and decided to do something about it.

Her idea was to use the Nambour Safe Committee's Box of Love project to help those in the Lockyer Valley affected by the floods.

Each box of love is filled with new, donated good such as toothpaste, tooth brushes, deoderant and soap - simple things that can provide a family that has lost so much with a measure of normalcy and dignity. Each box also contains a small gift as many children have been affected by the flood waters that ravaged the town.

"The generosity of the people of Nambour has been amazing. The acceptance of the project is  inspiring and encourages the committee to do more." Christine says.

Goods for the boxes have come from a wide variety of sources: Nambour High School, local bowling clubs, croquet clubs and individuals.

300 gift boxes will be presented to Lockyer Valley residents at a community picnic to be held in Helidon. It is Christine's hope that other communities will do as Nambour has done and adopt a town or region that has been affected by Queensland's recent flooding.
